Section 113 (1a) of the National Environment Act 2019, requires a developer of projects set out in Schedule 5 to conduct an environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) by way of scoping and this must meet both international standards and national regulatory requirements. We therefore help our clients to manage the process, preparing Terms of Reference, conducting Environment Impact Study, reviewing consultants’ reports and compile ESIA reports with appropriate Environment &Social Management Plans ESMPs and ensuring that management plans are integrated into project design, construction processes and operations. We help to expedite the process and avoid delays in project approvals.
This is aimed at ensuring sustainable development by identifying the possible impact that a proposed project or activity may have on the environment and hence eliminate, reduce or avoid adverse impacts and costs that would be met after damage is inflicted by either redesigning the project or instituting mitigation measures
